Project Cargo

Project cargo refers to shipments whose dimensions and weight exceed the limits of conventional containers. Also known as out-of-gauge, oversized, or super-heavy cargo, these shipments may face road transport restrictions and require special permits, stowage, lifting, and handling procedures.

Capodeferro provides reliable and cost-effective logistics solutions for all types of non-standard cargo. Our approach reduces costs, minimizes delay risks, ensures compliance, and offers agile communication with partners.

We manage the entire process - from planning to final delivery - using tested routes, our in-house technical team, and certified partners.

Frequently Asked Questions | Project Cargo

Do you have experience with oversized cargo transport? What kind of projects have you carried out?
Yes, we have consolidated experience in complex projects, involving transformers, industrial equipment, metallic structures, wind turbine blades, boilers, tanks, wagons (monorail, subway, and locomotives). We act from planning to delivery, with tested routes, our own technical team, and approved partners. I can share similar cases or references to your project, if desired.

Do you conduct feasibility studies and route analysis?
Yes, this is one of the pillars of our work as an MTO. We carry out technical surveys of the route (Rotograms and EVG when necessary), interference analysis (viaducts, curves, bridges), prior inspection, 3D simulations (when necessary), and validation with competent bodies. Only after this do we finalize the schedule and the final route.
Do you handle the issuance of special authorizations (AET, DER, DNIT, etc.)?
We take care of all the documentary and bureaucratic part: AETs (Special Transit Authorizations), coordination with DNIT, state DERs, ANTT, highway concessionaires, and even management with ports and railways. The client does not need to worry about this stage.
How is the cargo lashing, lifting, and handling done?
We work with engineers specialized in cargo handling, develop Rigging and Survey plans, define lashing points, use certified equipment (slings, chains, props), and operate with cranes suitable for the cargo and location. We guarantee material integrity from shipment to delivery.
Do you provide escort and pilot cars?
Yes. For loads with excess width above 3.20 meters. We organize civil and police escorts, as required by the type and dimension of the cargo. We also coordinate night logistics, if the route requires transport at special times.
Do you offer specialized insurance for this type of cargo?
Yes, we offer all-risk insurance, with specific coverage for project cargo. We work with insurers who know the sector and allow specific clauses for handling, lifting, and multimodal transit.
How is the schedule and deadline control managed?
We set up a detailed schedule with safety margins and key dates: document release, route inspection, mobilization, loading, transit, and delivery. We keep the client informed with periodic reports and status alerts.
What is your operational structure and who are your partners?
We have our own team for logistics management, transport engineering, documentation, and safety. Our field partners (transport companies, crane operators, ports, railways, etc.) are audited and approved. We act as a single operator, integrating all links of the transport with contractual responsibility.
Do you operate throughout Brazil and abroad?
We operate across Brazil and internationally, handling projects in Mercosur and ALADI countries (Chile, Peru, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela), offering door-to-door or port-to-port solutions.
What are your differentials for heavy projects?
Our greatest strength lies in our systemic approach to transport, technical expertise in critical cargo, and strict adherence to deadlines. We act as a single communication channel, assuming complete project responsibility from start to finish.
